To The Beautiful Woman Who Goes To The Other Starbucks Across The Street: By JPBreganza
I look over my shoulder all the time
Always double checking to see if you’d walk in.
And even though you never come.
I’d still like to think that you would.
You see I’ve been thinking about you daily.
You’re like a reoccurring dream.
I always see you in the distance
But my vision’s never what it seems.
Because you see, every morning at 9 AM
I walk into Starbucks before I go to work and there you are away from me getting the exact mocha latte I get from a different Starbucks across the same street.
And I’m lookin through my window into yours thinking
Why the hell would they make two Starbucks’ on the same damn street.
I don’t even like Starbucks.
Actually I just hate that one you go to so much,
That I wished that somehow, someway, that there would be some cause that would just tear it all down so that it would force you to come here and notice me the way that I notice you.
Which would be so wonderful so that I could finally say hi,
And tell you that we ordered the same drink.
And tell you how cool you are for doing that and use that line as an opening ice breaker or something like that.
And maybe tell you something more than that because you look so beautiful that I could see right through the glares of the glass window from your Starbucks
And see you, and only you, in that whole store, or restaurant or whatever the hell that place is.
I hate Starbucks so fricken much.
I just want you to come here already and make my day.
And give me something to look at other than having to see the ugly baristas that take my order, and all the hipster teenagers that think they’re cool because they know how to make a complicated order in a different lingo
I just want to gaze at your beauty until you make eye contact with me
So that I could come over and say
…
“Hey
I don’t intend on dating you.
I just want to say a couple of things.
It’s that your eyes, and your smile
Did nothing but make my heart sink.”
And if you give me a chance to say just that, then I’ll be satisfied with our little chit chat because you are too beautiful to not hear something like that ever in your life.
